Description
Another wonderful seafood restaurant is the Hosteria da Franz, located just a five-minute walk from the Giardini stop on vaporetto No. 1. There's no menu, but English is spoken, and the fish and crustacea are very fresh. The antipasto may bring marinated gamberoni with polenta along with an assortment that often includes some crayfish. The pasta can be unusual and good—spaghetti with shrimp, peperoncino flakes, and bits of tomato, or a pasticcio of fish. In good weather, you dine outdoors next to a tiny canal (bring insect repellent).
