Back CGI-Machine - EMAILRESPONDER
 
The CGIMachine-EMAILRESONDER can automatically send predefined text-files as an Email to a visitor of your homepage.You can define topics which are connected to the text files. The program uses your HTML-document and adds via a special command the form where the user can choose the topic and defines his E-Mail Adress. The Product consits of two components :
  • the fast CGI-application
  • a comfortable configuration-software where you can define all necessary stuff.

In the shareware-version can use only use 2 topics. But the registered version of the software costs only $29.

  How to use the EMAILRESPONDER
 
The CGI-Application
  • copy the email.exe in your CGI-path. The subdirectory must declared for starting applications via your server-software or your provider.
  • copy the in the ECONFIG.EXE specified html-document also in your CGI-path
  • put via a texteditor the tag ###EMAIL at the position where you want the CGI-machine to create the form. Attention , the tag ###EMAIL must stand alone at the beginnung of a row.
  • start the cgi-application via another html-page with yourdomain/yourcgipath/email.exe (e.g. www.plattform.de/cgi/email.exe)
  • ready, the CGI-Machine EmailResponder will return a dynamic html-document consiting of your specified html-document(ECONFIG.EXE) including the Resonder-form.

The Config-Software

  • copy the econfig.exe in your CGI-path.
  • start the econfig.exe via the Explorer
  • change to options
  • specify the parameters
  1. document-source : this is the name of your html-document where you have added the ###EMAIL tag. (e.g.info.htm)
  2. server-location : this is the www-domain-name, where the email.exe can be found. Attention, this is not the path where the application can found on your server. (e.g. www.plattform.de/cgi/email.exe)
  3. EMail-caption : a string which is displayed in front of the Email-adress field in the form (e.g. EMail-adress)
  4. Topic-caption : a string which is displayed in front of the Topic-combo-box (e.g. Topics)
  5. Button-caption : a string which is displayed on the button (e.g. OK)
  6. Answering text : a string which is displayed on your html-document after a topic was delivered to the visitor of your homepage (e.g. EMAIL delivered).
  7. remote host : your Email-remote-host
  8. remote port : Email-port (normally 25)
  • change to topics
  • add your topics
  1. topic : the name of your topic, which is displayed in the combo-box in your html-document
  2. sender : your Email-Adress
  3. MailCC : optional, if you want to send copies to a special EMail-Adress
  4. Subject : the title of your topic, which is displayed in the Email
  5. Textfile : path and filename of the textfile connected to the topic
