WinExit v2.0 Copyright ©1990 by Howard Silver CompuServ - 76675,3476 (for Windows 3.0 or higher) **************************************************************************** W H A T I S W I N E X I T? Well, this is one of those simple little programs that can make life a little easier. The purpose of this program is simply to allow you to double-click on an icon and shutdown Windows. This I found to be easier than going through Program Manager. You can just simply exit Windows, or configure it to display a dialog box asking you if you really want to exit. This is similar to what you get from Program Manager. BUT DON'T WORRY!. This method of closing down Windows is the same way Program Manager does it. So no work will be lost. For example, let's say you have EXCEL running with a spreadsheet you just created or modified, but haven't saved yet. EXCEL (and all running programs) will get notified by Windows that it is closing down, so you have a chance to save your work. For complete help, view the Windows 3.0 HELP file "WINEXIT.HLP" for complete information on installation and setup. **************************************************************************** N E W O P T I O N S A N D C H A N G E S ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW FOR VERSION 2.0 : Added the ability to go through Program Manager to exit Windows and save ProgMan options. Added command line keywords. Added Windows 3.0 style HELP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW FOR VERSION 1.1 : For added flexibility, version 1.1 or WinExit can now be executed from Program Manager. Just define WinExit in any folder with something (ANYTHING!) on the command line. It doesn't matter what is on the command line, just so there is something there. Then when you double-click on the EXIT icon, it will shutdown Windows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to here your opinions and suggestions on WinExit. I am releasing this program in public domain. Howard Silver 76675,3476
