FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR

The French Emperor, Napoleon III had an ambitious foreign policy that led
him to clash with the expanding Prussian state and war broke out between
them in 1870. Prussia invaded and her armies proved superior to the
French,and Paris was besieged. France sued for peace in 1881.
