STONEHENGE
 
                               
 Stonehenge is a prehistoric megalithic monument on Salisbury Plain.
 Several different monuments of differing dates have been erected on the
 site from c1900BC through to 1400BC. It's main feature consisted originally
 of a circle of 30 upright stones. Though probably having a religious
 purpose Stonehenge was NOT a Druidic temple; the stones are so arranged
 that they could have been used to make astronomical calculations.
