Attention All UK Amigans!!

There is going to be another World Of Amiga show!!. After the overwhelming success of last years show, the organisers have decided to set one up agsin...this time in a bigger venue, although still at the Novotell Hammersmith Exhibition Centre, it will be in a much larger hall :^) Big names said to be making an appearance are, among others, HiSoft, Digita, HiQ, PD Soft, Blittersoft and Epic.
Many of the exhibitors are going to be launching new products, so this year may see the Show being more like a showcase for the latest releases, and not just mainly a market stall constellation, like previous years (although these were still brilliant).
From my experience last year, an amazing selection of deals were available (?), so make sure you take plenty of money, (Which I won't have if I keep up all this internetting..). The show has been reorganised after last years battles for entry, (Which I luckily missed due to accidently arriving late :^) ) So don't expect quite as much trouble getting in as you may have experienced last time..
Oh.."but when's it on?" I hear you all scream..well, it is spread across two days, like last years, and those gold plated days? They're Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May, 1997. Ticket prices are the same as last year, £6 for "Children" and £8 for Adults (at the door)...See you there.
If you want to book tickets..then the number may be the same as last year...I'm not too sure, but last year's booking phone number was [It will be here as soon as I can find the show programme....sorry]
PHASE 5 ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR NEW AMIGA!!!!!

AMIGA NOT TO BE BOUGHT BY VIScorp Shocker?

I've just heard that VIScorp don't have enough cash to purchase the AMIGA, and that another firm Quick Pack have placed a bid. The deal's supposed to be signed by 13th December, but I haven't hearf anything as yet. Watch this space.

AWeb II v2.1 gets an update

AmiTrix Development have announced that they are to release version 2.1 of AWeb. The update will be free to people that have bought v2.0, and can be found at their web page. AWeb-II v2.1 is now available from Blittersoft (01901 261466) and costs £39.95. The reason it was a little late was due to some last minute changes, and illness.

amiCrawler - Finished?

amiCrawler, the oldest Amiga web search engine, is to be replaced by amiSpider - the Amiga's first ever search spider. The service will now be much faster, your search results will be displayed starting with the more relevant matches first, including indexing of every word of every page, so presumably, you could search for, for example, the words Spice Girls, and get a list of pages about The Spice Girls, instead of Peppers and young women.

amiSpider will also have the largest Amiga-Only database of Amiga related sites. Entire sites can be indexed by simply supplying the the URL. When a link disappears, or moves, amiSpider will recognise this and remove it from it's storage.

Wordworth gets new release

Digita are launching another version of their fine word processing package. Version 6 has new drawing tools, some more fonts, ARexx macros and commands and, dum-dum-durrrrr, will come on a nice shiny CD. The reason for this is more than likely to store the 1000+ clipart images!. It will be available for a handy £39.99

To go with this latest release, Digita are also revamping their programs: TurboCalc and Personal Paint (Which will have new features for all you budding web page creators out there, and NewIcon support).

As if this wasn't enough, Digita are also compiling an Office Pack, which will contain such delights as Wordworth 6, Organiser 2, Datastore 2 and Money Matters 4. This will be retailling for the amazingly nifty price of £49.99.

For more information, why not phone Digita yourself? You can catch them at (01395) 270273.
