ProjectX DalServ

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: ProjectX DalServ 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon script from ProjectX that basically allows you to keep track of your nicks/channels through various means and also gives a few options for MemoServ and requesting the online help files from the existing services. The documentation and presentation of the addon is very nice, as usual with ProjectX. It is easily configured through a dialog window seperated into tabs. You can reach this dialog through popups. The addon is very customizable and the dialog window is pleasing to the eye (or something like that ;). For the most part, the addon appears to work. There has been quite a bit of error checking as well. For instance, you will not be able to access certain parts of the dialog or the script in general if you are not connected to DALnet. However, there is still a bug or two lurking around. For instance, it takes 30 days for a nickname on DALnet to expire and not 20, as the addon claims. The author allows you to customize the help topics to search for (with services itself). However, it's

ProjectX E-mail Checker

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: ProjectX E-mail Checker 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Well done email checker addon for mIRC. The script contains documentation and also has suppor at a website that you can access through its popups. It supports multiple email accounts and is manageable through a well done dialog interface. For what it does, it works quite well. I do have a few suggestions however. First of all, perhaps the author should include some error checking, giving a custom error message if the script is already in the process of checking email .. at the moment it will return an error message of: "* /sockopen: 'pxemail' socket in use (line 86, pxemail.mrc)". The custom window also goes into the background everytime that it checks for email. In addition, it might be a good idea to spread the information for one email onto several lines ... the window is not quite long enough to hold all the information. If the author really wishes to add more features, they could also allow you to see the actual content of an email, but that would require quite a few additions. The coding

ProjectX Explorer

Title: ProjectX Explorer 1

Format: Win OS

Description: An mIRC addon that will simulate a Windows Explorer session completely in mIRC. The addon is great with adding the Windows Explorer capabilities and a lot more for adding functionality with mIRC as well (Such as DCC SENDING files in a directory to someone). You can find the Addon's options within the mIRC menus. Upon first loading this script, you must load both .mrc files included with the zip file, something that the Author forgot to mention. When I loaded up the explorer, I wasn't too surprised with it's functionality and flexibility, most ProjectX addons have this. The readme file was "QUITE" extensive and explanatory. It describes every function of the addon in great detail. There is error checking in just about everything. All of the routines used to gather information (such as directory listings and file existance) are quite fast. It has lots of extras, such as showing file information (Date created, file size, etc.). However, I have found a few errors with this addon. Upon renaming a f

ProjectX Input

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: ProjectX Input 2.6

Format: Win OS

Description: Very nice spell checker that allows you to add words, uninstall the addon easily and it also includes a simple nick completion script. The script itself is very well coded. The authors actually made the aliases local so that it won't interfere with any other scripts. The *.txt file that was included included a detailed description of the script and how to use it. The only "bugs" that I found were that if you chose to have a nick completion style without having checked the Nick Completor (meaning that you don't need to press TAB) box, the script won't work. And if you choose to use its unload option, then the script will leave a variable of the script inside mIRC. The options are configurable via a dialog window. You can reach the options via the Status, Menubar or Channel popups.

ProjectX Paint

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: ProjectX Paint 2

Format: Win OS

Description: From what I can tell, it is a painting addon that you can draw in mirc. Its pretty nice, easy to use and clean. Although, its not too heavily dialoged. The documentation is good, I have no problem at all with it. It explains to me the installation, description of the addon, and so on. You can load a bitmap image into the window, also this addon gives you the ability to save the images you edit/create. One bad thing about this is that it only gives you 4 options to draw with: text, erase, line, and dot. Once you select the dot drawing option, the dots aren't connected or filled like I figured they would be. (shrug) I did find a bug though, everytime I drew a line, it gave me the error: * /write: unable to open '\\drawline' (line 22, pxpaint.mrc) in status. The coding is nice, it uses a few local aliases, mostly as basic stuff, eg: readini, writeini, and so on. But it did have a large amount of coding that, as far as I can tell, is for advertising the group. Some things I would have liked to see
